Job Description

Job Title: Social Media Manager

Location: Delhi (On-site)

Company: BookLeaf Publishing (Libresco Feeds Pvt. Ltd.)

Type: Full-time

About BookLeaf

BookLeaf Publishing is one of India's fastest-growing self-publishing companies, helping thousands of writers turn their manuscripts into published books every month. With a catalog of 22,000+ titles, an in-house warehouse and printing facility in Delhi, distribution across India and the US, and a feature on Shark Tank India Season 4, we're building the home for first-time authors. Our flagship The Write Angle (TWA) writing challenge has welcomed thousands of writers into print, and our community of poets, storytellers, and dreamers continues to grow every day.

The Role

We're looking for a Social Media Manager who lives and breathes content - someone who can own our presence across Instagram and LinkedIn end-to-end, and bring the same instincts to our paid social. You'll be the voice of BookLeaf to a community of writers, readers, and aspiring authors, and the architect behind how that voice shows up every single day.

This is a hands-on, ideas-first role. You won't just be scheduling posts - you'll be deciding what we say, how we say it, and where the next big opportunity is hiding.

What you'll Do

Content Strategy & Calendar

Own the monthly content calendar across Instagram and LinkedIn. Build a strategy rooted in what each platform is for at BookLeaf - relatable, shareable, trend-driven content for writers on Instagram, and behind-the-scenes from the BookLeaf office on LinkedIn. Plan ahead, ship consistently, and report on what's working.

Instagram - Relatable & Shareable

Run our Instagram as the home of relatable, shareable content for writers. Reels, carousels, memes, poetry moments, writing struggles, author wins - content that stops the scroll and gets sent to a friend. Trends are a core part of this: you'll spot what's moving on Reels and BookTok early and turn it into BookLeaf content within 24–48 hours.

Instagram Stories - Tagged Content

Manage our Stories as a live feed of everything we get tagged in - author unboxings, reading moments, shoutouts. Build a system to surface, repost, and engage with tagged content daily so every author feels seen.

LinkedIn - Behind the Scenes

Run LinkedIn as the window into BookLeaf's office. Capture and post the moments that deserve to be shared - team wins, warehouse and printing facility updates, founder thoughts, hiring news, day-in-the-life snapshots, milestones. You'll be on the floor with a phone, hunting for what's worth posting.

Trend Hunting (Organic + Paid)

Stay glued to what's working across Instagram, LinkedIn, BookTok, and Bookstagram. For organic, translate trends into BookLeaf content fast. For paid, track ad trends, hooks, and formats that are winning for other brands - DTC, ed-tech, creator brands - and build a swipe file we can recreate for our own ad campaigns. Work closely with the team to ship new ad creatives every week.

Influencer & Creator Outreach

Identify and build relationships with bookstagrammers, poets, writing coaches, and literary creators across India and the US. Run outreach campaigns, negotiate collaborations, manage briefs, and track ROI. Build a creator network BookLeaf can activate on demand.

Community & Engagement

Engage with our community in comments, DMs, and tagged posts. Surface community feedback to the broader team.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years managing social media for a brand, agency, or creator - ideally in publishing, books, education, lifestyle, or a creator-led business
  • A genuine love for books, writing, and storytelling. If you've never read a poem for fun, this isn't the role for you.
  • Strong instincts for what makes content stop the scroll, with a portfolio or examples to back it up
  • Hands-on experience running both Instagram (Reels, carousels, Stories) and LinkedIn (company pages, founder-led content)
  • A trained eye for ad creative - you can look at a winning ad and break down why it works
  • Comfort with influencer outreach, negotiation, and relationship management
  • Sharp written English; bonus points for Hindi or Urdu fluency
  • Working knowledge of basic editing tools (CapCut, Canva, or similar) - you don't need to be a designer, but you should be able to mock up an idea
  • Self-starter energy. We move fast and we hire people who don't wait to be told what to do.

Bonus Points

  • Existing relationships with book influencers or literary creators
  • Experience with Meta Ads Manager, ManyChat / Instagram automation, or analytics tools
  • Background in publishing, ed-tech, or any community-driven brand
  • You write yourself - poetry, fiction, essays, anything

Why BookLeaf

You'll be part of a dynamic, fast-moving team that ships every week. You'll have real ownership over a brand that already reaches thousands of writers every month, and the runway to grow it into something much bigger. You'll work directly with the founders, see the impact of your work in real numbers, and help shape how India's next generation of authors discover publishing.
