Job Description

At Hashtag, the Social Media Manager is the one who keeps our brands alive, relevant, and winning every day.

You're the link between client servicing, design, and video while ensuring that content isn't just created, but created well, posted on time, and aligned with what the brand actually needs.

You'll think, ideate, write, plan, and drive the day-to-day content direction for the brands you handle.

From trend-spotting to idea shaping to briefing teams, you'll lead the creative engine for your brands.

Your job isn't just to post.

It's to make sure the brand stays culturally in-sync, creatively sharp, and strategically consistent across platforms.

What You'll Do

Ideation & Content Direction

  • Come up with ideas for reels, posts, stories, campaigns, and topical content.
  • Spot trends early and adapt them meaningfully for brands.
  • Write copies, hooks, and narrative directions.
  • Work closely with design and video teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Translate brand goals into content ideas that feel modern and native to the platform.

Content Calendar & Planning

  • Build monthly content calendars (ideas + formats + captions).
  • Identify content gaps and opportunities.
  • Plan campaign flows, brand moments, and category conversations.

Coordination & Execution

  • Brief designers and editors clearly the story, mood, reference, and pacing.
  • Review work for alignment: tone, layout, flow, clarity.
  • Track deadlines and ensure posts go out on time.
  • Maintain all content hygiene: bios, highlights, page grids, reel covers.

Client Interaction

  • Present calendars, ideas, and campaign directions.
  • Collect feedback, simplify it, and route it correctly.
  • Understand client expectations and translate them into actionable tasks.

Performance & Trends

  • Track what content performs and what doesn't, and adapt.
  • Share weekly and monthly insights.
  • Stay updated with trends, cultural moments, formats, and platform shifts.

Who You Are

  • 23 years in a social media role where you were part of ideation, not just posting.
  • Strong understanding of platforms, reels trends, audio cues, formats, and timing.
  • Great at writing short-form copy, hooks, and prompts.
  • Extremely organised and you can manage multiple brands without losing track.
  • Strong communicator who can brief design and video teams clearly.
  • Calm, solution-focused, and dependable when timelines get tight.
  • Enjoy being in the middle of creative energy, from idea to execution.

Nice-to-Haves (Optional)

  • Experience managing influencer collaborations.
  • Basic knowledge of design or video editing (even mobile-level).
  • Ability to break down trends and explain why something works.
  • Ambition to grow into a Content Strategist or Creative Lead later.
