Role Description:
We are looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to manage and grow official social media platforms for Government Departments / Public Sector Projects. The candidate will be responsible for planning, creating, publishing, and monitoring content across multiple platforms while ensuring compliance with government communication guidelines and public information standards.
The ideal candidate should have experience handling government, public sector, healthcare, or institutional social media accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage official government social media accounts (Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- Plan and execute monthly social media calendar
- Create informative, engaging, and policy-compliant content
- Ensure timely posting of government announcements, schemes, and updates
- Monitor comments, messages, and public queries
- Develop social media strategy aligned with government objectives
- Create awareness campaigns for government schemes and initiatives
- Coordinate with department officials for content approvals
- Plan campaigns for national days, government programs, and events
- Work with graphic designers, video editors, and content writers
- Draft captions, posts, and communication content
- Create multilingual content (Hindi & English preferred)
- Coordinate with field teams for event coverage
- Publish government schemes and announcements
- Promote department initiatives
- Highlight success stories and achievements
- Handle public awareness campaigns
- Coordinate with government officials
- Maintain official tone and communication standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in Social Media Management
- Graduate in Marketing / Communication / Journalism / IT / Management
- Certification in Digital Marketing (Preferred)
- Strong skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO)
- Experience in developing and implementing effective Content Strategy
- Excellent Communication and Writing skills
- Knowledge of analytics tools to measure campaign performance and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Familiarity with trends and best practices in social media and digital marketing
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred
- Experience handling Government / Institutional Accounts (Preferred)
