Job Description

About Us:

The Great Indian Studio (TGIS) is a Meta Verified boutique digital wedding invitation studio headquartered in Kolkata. Since 2019, we've helped 500+ families across India and 10+ countries celebrate their love stories through culturally rooted digital invitations from animated video invites and hand-drawn caricature e-cards to PDF suites designed around Marwari, Punjabi, South Indian, and Bengali traditions.

Featured in India Today, Times of India, Hindustan Metro, and Ahmedabad Mirror, we've built a reputation for cultural authenticity at India-friendly pricing and we're now stepping into our next, most ambitious chapter yet..

TGIS is actively building a first-of-its-kind Indian wedding website platform a tech product that gives every couple a beautifully designed, culturally authentic digital wedding hub: their own URL, per-function RSVP management, photo sharing, and guest tools, all wrapped in designs that actually reflect who they are Rajasthani bandhanwar motifs, South Indian temple patterns, Punjabi phulkari aesthetics, or a Mughal-inspired palette for the NRI couple planning from Toronto.

We are among the first players in India to build this category from the ground up. The person who joins us now won't just be an intern they'll be part of the founding story of something genuinely new.

The Role:

This is not a watch and learn internship. You will work hands-on on our live brand handles creating content, engaging with our audience, and contributing to campaigns that reach real couples. And now, you'll also play a key role in launching and growing awareness for our new wedding website platform a product that has never existed in this form for the Indian market.

If you're someone who instinctively knows what makes a reel stop the scroll, has a genuine love for Indian weddings and culture, and wants to be part of building something from the ground floor, we want to meet you.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan, create, and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts for both TGIS's existing invitation products and the upcoming wedding website platform
  • Write captions, reel scripts, and story hooks with a culturally intelligent voice you need to understand the difference between how you talk to a Marwari family in Jaipur and an NRI couple in New Jersey
  • Build buzz and anticipation around our new tech product think launch content, teaser campaigns, explainer reels, and before/after storytelling
  • Engage with followers, respond to DMs and comments, and actively build our community of engaged couples and families
  • Track performance metrics (reach, saves, DMs, link clicks) and deliver weekly insights that inform what we create next
  • Research trends, regional wedding aesthetics, and competitor activity across the Indian and NRI wedding space
  • Support outreach and collaborations with wedding platforms, bloggers, and influencers who align with our brand

Who We're Looking For:

  • Graduate or final-year student in Mass Communication, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field
  • Completed at least one relevant course or certification in social media marketing, digital marketing, or content creation
  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram (reels, stories, insights) and a basic understanding of Meta Business Suite
  • Good written communication in English and Hindi; Bengali is a strong plus
  • Genuine interest in Indian weddings, culture, and regional aesthetics you should know the difference between a Marwari phera and a Bengali bou bhat, and why that matters for a brand like ours
  • Curiosity about how digital products are built and marketed you don't need to be a developer, but excitement about a product launch is non-negotiable
  • Basic familiarity with Canva or any design tool for quick edits and story templates
  • Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable taking ownership this is a small team, so your initiative directly shapes what we build
  • Based in Kolkata and available for full-time, on-site commitment for the duration of the internship

What's In It For You:

  • 7,000 stipend - Paid monthly for the full 3-month internship
  • Live brand + product - Your work goes live on an active brand and a product launch
  • Pre-placement offer - Full-time role with a higher salary post-internship, based on performance
  • Founder-level access - Direct mentorship and a front-row seat to how a startup is built

Our Vision And Where You Fit In:

Indian weddings are among the most emotionally significant, culturally layered celebrations in the world. The global wedding tech industry has built extraordinary products but almost none of them were made for us, with us, or by us.

At TGIS, we're changing that. We started with digital invitations because that's where a wedding's story begins and now we're building the platform that carries the entire journey. A wedding website that a family in Kolkata and their relatives in California can both navigate with ease, that knows what a mehndi night is, that understands the difference between a sangeet and a reception, and that makes every function feel as special online as it does in person.

The right intern won't just help us grow a following they'll help introduce an entirely new category of product to the Indian wedding world. That's the opportunity. That's the impact we're building towards, together.

How To Apply:

Send your resume and a brief note (34 sentences) on why you'd be a great fit for TGIS to[Confidential Information]with the subject line:Social Media Intern [Your Name].

Bonus points if you share your Instagram handle or a piece of content you're proud of. Extra bonus points if you can tell us which Indian wedding function you'd design a website section for first and why.
