At Hashtag, the Social Media Executive is the engine behind everyday content. You're the one making sure brands show up consistently, creatively, and on time every single day.
You'll work closely with the Social Media Manager, Group Head, and design team to bring content calendars to life from reels and carousels to stories and community engagement. You're not just posting; you're shaping how brands feel in the feed.
This role is execution-heavy but not mindless. You'll need to think on your feet, spot trends early, adapt quickly, and bring ideas that make content pop. If you love staying plugged into what's happening online and turning that into content people actually engage with, this is your seat.
What You'll Do
Content Creation & Publishing
- Create and publish daily content across platforms: reels, stories, carousels, static posts, and text-based content.
- Write engaging captions with the right hooks, hashtags, and CTAs tailored to each brand's voice.
- Schedule and manage posts using scheduling tools.
- Ensure all content is posted on time, correctly formatted, and error-free.
- Repurpose content across platforms with platform-specific adaptations.
Community Management
- Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely, brand-appropriate manner.
- Flag important conversations, complaints, or opportunities to the Social Media Manager.
- Engage proactively with relevant accounts, collaborators, and communities to grow brand presence.
- Maintain a clean, active, and brand-consistent presence across all managed handles.
Trends & Research
- Stay on top of trending audio, memes, formats, and cultural moments across Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X.
- Bring trend-based content ideas to weekly brainstorming sessions.
- Track what competitors and best-in-class brands are doing on social.
- Maintain a swipe file of references, hooks, and creative inspiration.
Coordination & Support
- Work with the design team to brief creatives, provide feedback, and ensure visual output matches the content plan.
- Coordinate with the video team for reel production, behind-the-scenes content, and shoots.
- Support campaign execution by preparing assets, copy, and scheduling on time.
- Maintain content trackers and update the team on publishing status.
What You Are NOT Expected to Do
- Build or own the social media strategy
- Handle paid media, boosting, or ad management.
- Manage client relationships or attend client calls independently.
- Shoot or edit professional video content (though mobile-first content is a plus).
Tools You'll Use
- Meta Business Suite (scheduling & publishing)
- Canva for quick edits when necessary and story creation
- Google Sheets for content calendars and trackers
- Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X natively for community management
- Claude / AI tools for ideation support (nice to have)
What We're Looking For
Required
- 1–2 years in a social media role, preferably in an agency or fast-paced brand environment.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and X, and not just as a user, but as a content creator.
- Excellent written English - you can write captions, hooks, and short-form copy that performs.
- Extremely organised and dependable when timelines get tight.
- A genuine interest in social media, pop culture, and digital trends.
Nice-to-Haves (Optional)
- Experience with basic graphic design (Canva, Figma).
- Comfort shooting mobile-first content (reels, BTS, talking heads).
- Familiarity with social analytics and reporting.
- Regional/vernacular content understanding is a plus.

- Community engagement is active, responsive, and on-brand.
