Position: Social Expert cum Community Engagement Specialist
Department: Social Development & Stakeholder Management
Reporting To: Project Manager / Project Director
Role Purpose:
The Social Expert cum Community Engagement Specialist shall be responsible for managing community relations, stakeholder engagement, social impact assessments, public consultations, grievance management, and social development initiatives associated with project implementation. The role ensures effective communication and coordination between the project team, local communities, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement community engagement and stakeholder consultation plans.
• Conduct social impact assessments and baseline socio-economic surveys.
• Liaise with local communities, village representatives, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Organize public consultations, awareness programs, community meetings, and stakeholder interactions.
• Address community concerns and manage grievance redressal mechanisms.
• Monitor social impacts arising from project activities and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support land-related consultations, rehabilitation, and resettlement activities, if applicable.
• Prepare social development plans, stakeholder engagement reports, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with social safeguard requirements, project commitments, and statutory guidelines.
• Coordinate CSR and community development initiatives associated with the project.
• Maintain records of stakeholder consultations, grievances, and social performance indicators.
• Support project teams in maintaining positive community relations and minimizing social risks.
Educational Qualification:
• M.A. in Sociology
OR
• Master of Social Work (MSW)
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in similar social development, community engagement, stakeholder management, or social safeguard works.
• Experience in community consultation, social surveys, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Experience in infrastructure, construction, environmental, development, or government-funded projects will be preferred.
• Knowledge of social impact assessment and community development practices.
