About the Role:
We are currently recruiting an Oracle SOA Consultant to join our busy Technical Services Team. The Oracle SOA Consultant is responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support for Oracle SOA Suite environments, ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical integration services supporting enterprise business applications. The role includes infrastructure support, health checks, patching coordination, deployment activities, certificate management, incident resolution, and working closely with internal teams and third-party support providers.
The successful candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience supporting Oracle SOA environments in production. The candidate will also need the ability to work effectively in a remote global team environment.
Responsibilities:
The Oracle SOA Consultant role is broad, and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for Oracle SOA Suite environments, with incidents managed through ServiceNow and Halo and escalation to 3rd line support where required.
- Support Oracle SOA services during the standard support window, while participating in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation for Priority 1 incidents.
- Perform scheduled and on-demand health checks of Oracle SOA environments to ensure platform stability and performance.
- Administer and maintain SOA database objects, including tablespace and index management.
- Support Oracle SOA patching activities, including controlled stopping and starting of WebLogic and SOA services, working closely with infrastructure support teams.
- Perform production patching of Oracle SOA WebLogic environments following successful validation in non-production environments.
- Troubleshoot application and integration issues by analysing OpenSearch logs and executing documented recovery procedures and operational runbooks.
- Manage SSL certificates across SOA environments, including planning renewals, coordinating certificate requests, installation, and validation to prevent service disruption.
- Execute Oracle SOA change deployments during planned maintenance windows outside of core business hours.
- Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities, providing quality assurance for production deployments and supporting rollback activities where required.
- Support annual Disaster Recovery (DR) testing by executing documented recovery procedures and validating service availability.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, OCI, Oracle Database, WebLogic, JD Edwards, and application support teams to investigate and resolve production incidents.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
- Ensure compliance with Redfaire and client Data Protection and Change Management policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle SOA Suite in enterprise production environments.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle SOA Suite administration, configuration, and operational support.
- Experience supporting Oracle WebLogic Server, including service lifecycle management and patching.
- Experience managing Oracle SOA infrastructure, SSL certificates, and environment configuration.
- Good understanding of Oracle Database administration concepts, including tablespace and index management.
- Experience with production deployments, release management, and change control processes.
- Experience using ServiceNow, Halo or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.
- Experience analysing logs and troubleshooting complex integration issues using OpenSearch or equivalent log analysis tools.
- Familiarity with Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and operational procedures.
- Relevant third-level qualification or equivalent.
- Oracle SOA certifications would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a global support team.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and business requirements.
