Job Description

Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for administering Snowflake environments on AWS.
Identify, tune, and fix the performance issues by priority.
Diagnose and troubleshoot Snowflake-related errors and work with the team to raise support tickets, follow up, and help resolve them.
Implement security, roles, users, and privileges using the best practices.
Provide database/object recovery as needed.
Design, identify, and implement high-performing and highly available data warehouse solutions.
Create a database, schema, tables, views, and data sharing.
Create Snowflake utilisation and capacity/cost plans and identify and provide solutions for abnormalities.
Proactively identify, design, and implement process improvements like automating manual processes.
Stay up-to-date with the latest features and best practices in Snowflake administration.
Follow existing database runbooks; create and maintain new runbooks for new and improved processes.
Ability to work on unusually complex technical problems and provide ingenious solutions.
Ability to provide technical documentation and project plans for technical staff members.
Ability and experience with the development of processes and procedures to standardise database configuration.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or information technology.
Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy, utilising Unix shell scripting, Python, etc.
Some experience with AWS with knowledge of S3 EC2 VPC, IAM, Security, Networking, etc.
Extensive experience with the implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery and high availability.
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
