- 5–9 years of overall IT experience with substantial hands-on experience as a Snowflake administrator.
- Strong expertise in Snowflake account, warehouse, and database administration, including user and role management.
- Proven experience implementing and managing RBAC, security policies, and data governance within Snowflake.
- Solid understanding of Snowflake performance tuning, warehouse optimization, and cost management practices.
- Experience with monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting Snowflake-related issues in production environments.
- Practical knowledge of automation or scripting for operational tasks (e.g., using SQL or CLI-based tools).
- Relevant Snowflake administrator certification (or equivalent) demonstrating proficiency in Snowflake administration concepts.
- Administer and manage Snowflake accounts, warehouses, databases, roles, and users, ensuring secure and efficient operations.
- Implement and maintain role-based access control (RBAC), security policies, and data governance standards within Snowflake.
- Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, including warehouse sizing, query tuning, clustering, and resource utilization.
- Manage Snowflake object lifecycle: databases, schemas, tables, stages, file formats, and integrations with external storage.
- Configure and maintain data sharing, data masking, and encryption features in line with compliance and security requirements.
- Set up and manage Snowflake tasks, streams, and resource monitors to support stable and cost-effective operations.
- Implement backup, failover, and disaster recovery strategies using Snowflake features such as Time Travel and Failover/Failback.
- Automate routine administrative tasks and environment provisioning, leveraging tools such as Docker where applicable.
- Collaborate with data engineering and BI teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize workloads, and support release activities.
- Establish and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for Snowflake administration and operations.
- Proactively monitor system health, set up alerts, and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to support audits, implement controls, and ensure adherence to organizational policies.
