The SME Computer Science is responsible for designing modern, industry-aligned curriculum content, developing technology-integrated learning modules, and supporting teachers in effective classroom delivery. The role ensures that coding, computational thinking, digital literacy, and Computer Science fundamentals are taught with conceptual clarity and updated pedagogical practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop structured CS curriculum for Grades 112 (Python, Java, AI, Robotics, Web Development).
Create lesson plans, worksheets, coding exercises, project guides, and assessments.
Align content with CBSE syllabus, NEP 2020, coding standards, and latest tech trends.
Develop computational thinking modules and digital literacy frameworks.
Conduct training sessions on programming languages, tools, pedagogy, and best practices.
Mentor CS teachers and support lesson planning & classroom implementation.
Lead collaborative academic planning meetings for the Computer Science department.
Design coding challenges, project rubrics, practical exam frameworks, and question banks.
Ensure assessments follow CBSE and competency-based patterns.
Review student coding work, evaluate learning gaps, and recommend improvement strategies.
Develop modules involving AI tools, robotics kits, microcontrollers, IoT, or digital applications.
Promote tech-based learning using simulations, IDEs, coding platforms, and educational technology.
Guide students and teachers on safe and responsible digital practices.
Conduct academic audits of CS classes, content quality, and implementation.
Review teacher delivery, documentation, and adherence to curriculum.
Analyse student performance to support academic planning and interventions.
Master's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology OR B.Tech in CS/IT.
36 years of teaching or SME/content development experience.
Strong expertise in programming languages (Python, Java, SQL, C++ preferred).
Experience with AI, Robotics, or EdTech tools is an added advantage.
Strong subject expertise & programming proficiency.
Ability to design modular, structured academic content.
Strong communication, training, and mentoring skills.
Familiarity with digital platforms, coding tools, IDEs, and CS pedagogy.
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for school-level learners.
Collaborate closely with the curriculum and academic leadership team.
Conduct periodic teacher training and academic audits.
Travel across branches for implementation support (if required).
Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in teaching CS.
