Overview
Seeking a Smartsheet Solution Architect with deep, hands-on expertise to stabilize, optimize, and extend a complex enterprise Smartsheet environment. This is not an administrative role. The scope requires architectural ownership, advanced configuration, and the ability to design scalable solutions aligned to business workflows and capacity planning models.
Core Responsibilities:
Own Smartsheet Architecture
- Understand and manage the full backend structure of an existing Smartsheet environment
- Maintain and evolve system design, data structure, and governance model
Advanced Configuration & Optimization
- Lead configuration across:
- Control Center
- DataMesh / Data Shuttle
- Workflow automation
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase performance and scalability
- Establish, optimize and improve Smartsheet Templates for widespread use throughout the system
- Establish structure and consistency using intake forms and proper Smartsheet intake best practices
Net-New Solution Design
- Architect and build new solutions, including:
- Capacity planning models
- Executive dashboards and reporting frameworks
- Translate business requirements into scalable Smartsheet architectures
Custom Automation Development
- Design and implement advanced automations beyond standard workflows
- Leverage native capabilities and recommend enhancements (including AI features where relevant)
Stakeholder Advisory
- Act as a technical advisor to client stakeholders
- Provide recommendations on best practices, structure, and future-state roadmap
Required Experiences:
Deep Smartsheet Expertise (non-negotiable)
- Proven experience as a Smartsheet Solution Architect (not admin-level)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Control Center (required)
- DataMesh / Data Shuttle (required)
- Complex workflow automation (required)
Solution Design & Build
- Demonstrated experience building custom Smartsheet solutions from scratch
- Experience optimizing large-scale, existing environments
Automation & Systems Thinking
- Strong understanding of data flows, dependencies, and scalable system design
- Experience designing custom automations within Smartsheet
Client-Facing Execution
- Ability to operate in a consultative capacity with enterprise clients
- Translate ambiguous requirements into structured solutions
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to APIs, integrations, or external system connectivity
- Familiarity with AI capabilities within Smartsheet or adjacent tooling
- Experience supporting workforce management, capacity planning, or marketing operations use cases
