Job Title: Slitting Operator (CRGO Steel / Lamination Sheets)

Job Purpose
To operate and maintain slitting machines for cutting CRGO steel coils into precision lamination strips/sheets, ensuring required quality, accuracy, and minimal material loss.
Key Responsibilities1. Machine Operation
- Operate slitting line including decoiler, slitter head, and recoiler.
- Set up slitting machine as per required widths and specifications.
- Adjust knife clearance, spacers, and tension settings for CRGO material.
- Ensure smooth and continuous operation of the line.

- Setup & Changeover
- Perform knife changing, spacer arrangement, and alignment.
- Prepare machine for different coil sizes and thicknesses.
- Minimize setup time while maintaining accuracy.
- Quality Assurance
- Check slit widths, edge quality, and burr levels during production.
- Identify defects like edge wave, camber, scratches, or damage.
- Ensure output meets customer specifications for transformer laminations.
- Coordinate with QC team for inspections.
- Material Handling
- Handle CRGO coils carefully to avoid surface damage.
- Load and unload coils using cranes or handling equipment (if trained).
- Ensure proper tagging and identification of slit coils.
- Productivity & Waste Control
- Achieve daily production targets.
- Minimize scrap and optimize material usage.
- Report abnormal losses or defects immediately.
- Machine Maintenance
- Perform routine checks and basic preventive maintenance.
- Keep machine clean and properly lubricated.
- Report mechanical or electrical issues to maintenance team.
- Safety Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ensure safe handling of sharp knives and heavy coils.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
