Slack API Expert

We are looking for a highly skilled Slack API Expert who can design, build, and maintain powerful integrations and automation systems within the Slack ecosystem.

This role is ideal for someone who deeply understands Slack's API architecture and knows how to build reliable applications, bots, and workflows that extend Slack beyond basic messaging into a true operational platform.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to design and implement Slack-based tools that improve internal collaboration, automate workflows, and connect Slack with external systems such as CRMs, analytics platforms, databases, and internal applications.

The ideal candidate understands how to build scalable Slack integrations, manage permissions and authentication, handle events and webhooks, and create user-friendly Slack apps that teams rely on daily.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain custom Slack applications and integrations

Build Slack bots, slash commands, workflows, and automation systems

Integrate Slack with external systems such as CRMs, databases, analytics tools, and internal platforms

Work with Slack APIs, including Events API, Web API, and interactive components

Implement real-time event handling using webhooks and Slack event subscriptions

Build reliable message automation, notifications, and workflow triggers

Manage authentication, OAuth flows, and permission scopes for Slack applications

Ensure integrations are secure, reliable, and scalable across teams

Debug, optimize, and maintain existing Slack-based automation systems

Document system architecture, integration logic, and workflows clearly

Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design Slack-based tools that improve productivity

Stay updated with Slack platform updates, API capabilities, and best practices

Requirements

3 plus years of experience working with APIs, integrations, or backend systems

Proven experience building Slack apps, bots, or custom integrations using Slack APIs

Strong understanding of Slack Web API, Events API, and OAuth authentication

Experience building automation systems and workflow integrations

Experience working with webhooks, event-driven systems, and real-time messaging platforms

Familiarity with backend development environments such as Node.js, Python, or similar

Experience connecting Slack with external services, databases, or SaaS platforms

Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skills

Ability to build reliable integrations used by teams daily

Nice to Have

Experience building internal tools or operational automation systems

Experience integrating Slack with platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Workspace, or analytics systems

Familiarity with serverless environments or cloud platforms

Experience designing productivity or collaboration tools

Startup or fast-paced product team experience
