About the Role:
Responsible for leading the design and execution of a future-ready skill development ecosystem to build technical capabilities across automobile manufacturing (NEV, and advanced technologies), ensuring workforce readiness aligned with business strategy and industry standards.
The role ensures achievement of SQPDCME framework (i.e. Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, Cost, Morale
Key Responsibilities:
- Skill Framework & Curriculum Design
- Develop role-based competency frameworks (Associate &TL) across Production, Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
- Design and implement skill matrices aligned with NSQF and sector skill councils (ASDC - Automotive Skills Development Council, ACMA - Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India, SIAM- Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers).
- Create structured learning pathways and training roadmaps covering NEV, automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0.
- SDT Self Directed Team structure implantation
2. Training Program Management
- Lead end-to-end technical training delivery for operators, technicians, supervisors, and engineers.
- Design and deploy induction, certification, refresher, and multi-skilling programs.
- Integrate multiple learning methodologies: classroom, OJT, simulation, and lab-based training.
3. IndustryAcademia & Government Collaboration
- Build strategic partnerships with ITI, Polytechnics, Engineering Colleges, and Skill Universities.
- Collaborate with government bodies such as MSDE, NSDC, and State Skill Missions.
- Drive initiatives under Apprenticeship Programs (NAPS, NATS) and CSR-linked skilling projects.
4. Assessment, Certification & Capability Evaluation
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and skill gap assessments across functions.
- Implement robust assessment and certification frameworks to validate competencies.
- Track effectiveness through data-driven KPIs, dashboards, and skill readiness metrics.
5. NEV & Future Skills Development
- Lead capability building in Electric Vehicle technologies (Battery Systems, Motors, Power Electronics, BMS).
- Drive upskilling in automation, PLCs, robotics, data analytics, and AI-enabled manufacturing.
- Develop and execute workforce transition strategies from ICE to NEV ecosystems.
6. Training Infrastructure & Budget Management
- Establish and manage Skill Development Centers and advanced training labs.
- Oversee trainers, external partners, and master trainers for effective delivery.
- Plan and manage training budgets (OPEX/CAPEX), leveraging government grants and subsidies.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical, or Mechatronics
- MBA / PG Diploma in HR, Learning & Development (preferred)
- 610 years in Automobile Manufacturing / Auto Components / EV sector
- Strong exposure to shopfloor operations and technical training systems
- Proven experience in managing large-scale skill development initiatives
