Job Purpose
The Site Safety Lead ensures a secure and compliant work environment. Responsible to develop safety plans, managing emergency protocols, and enforcing safety standards for all on-site, including subcontractors. This role requires proactive hazard detection, leading safety training, and directing safety council efforts. The Safety Lead is also tasked with incident response and promoting a safety-first culture through effective communication.
Responsibilities
Site Safety Planning and Compliance:
- Develop and implement comprehensive site safety plans in accordance with the Project Safety Manual and Adani Safety Document, ensuring that all aspects of work on the site are covered by effective safety strategies.
- Prepare and regularly update emergency preparedness plans, ensuring alignment with the overarching Safety Standards set by the Head Office, and tailor these plans to the specific needs and risks of the project site.
- Diligently review and approve safety plans submitted by subcontractors, verifying that they meet Adani's stringent safety requirements
Worksite Monitoring And Training
- Conduct regular and thorough inspections of the project site to identify and rectify any potential hazards, ensuring a consistently hazard-free environment.
- Evaluate contractor safety performance on a periodic basis based on Adani safety processes and report any non-compliance immediately
- Facilitate toolbox meetings to engage with the workforce on current safety issues, updates, and to reinforce the importance of safety in daily operations.
- Design and deliver robust training programs to educate employees on safe practices, and conduct drills and exercises to enhance their ability to manage emergency situations effectively.
- Act as a driving force within the project safety council, leading the charge to continuously improve safety measures and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Facilitate safety governance system in RMRW - safety taskforce at site in overseeing safety protocols for all employees and contractors.
Incident Evaluation And Analysis
- Respond to and facilitate investigation of all accidents and near-misses with a meticulous approach, aiming to uncover root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Facilitate job hazard analyses proactively to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks before they result in incidents.
- Ensure that all injury logs, reports, and documentation are accurately maintained and promptly submitted to relevant stakeholders, including management and regulatory bodies.
- Facilitate second-party and third-party audits at site and ensure compliance to all audit check-points through driving the initiatives through concerned stakeholders (projects teams, P&M, etc.)
Safety Communications
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for all employees safety concerns, ensuring that these concerns are addressed quickly and effectively to maintain trust and safety morale.
- Liaise with external agencies and consultants testings and evaluations, ensuring through the concerned stakeholders that the workplace meets all regulatory requirements and industry standards

Qualifications
Education Qualification:
- Diploma /Degree - Civil, Mechanical ,Electrical and diploma In safety (AICTE approved)

- 10+ years of work experience

- NEBOSH Certification
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certification
