About The Role

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead a high-performing team within Enterprise Technology. This team ensures the reliability, scalability, and performance of Disney's systems, infrastructure, and applications that support global operations.

As the Manager of SRE, you will set strategic direction, foster a DevOps culture, and drive operational excellence across production environments. You'll lead technical analysis, platform design, and delivery execution, while mentoring engineers and technical leads.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of technical leads and systems reliability engineers.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate a clear team vision aligned with Disney's enterprise technology strategy and values.

Technical Strategy & Execution

  • Oversee technical analysis, cost and effort estimation, and architectural fit for production environments.
  • Lead platform/system design and ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Manage resource schedules, delivery milestones, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide senior-level technical direction on enterprise-level projects.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of complex systems and infrastructure.
  • Maintain and enforce engineering best practices across the team.
  • Drive robust and cost-effective technical solutions aligned with customer requirements.
  • Support buy-versus-build decision-making processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 57 years of hands-on experience in systems reliability engineering, including senior-level technical leadership.
  • Proven experience managing SRE teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal relationship abilities.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and production environment management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and self-organized with a proactive mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with observability tools, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to incident management, root cause analysis, and postmortem practices.
  • Experience working across cross-functional business units and technical teams.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
