Site Reliability Engineer

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of data systems supporting the GPN Lakehouse. This role involves developing, automating, and testing data pipelines, from extraction through to consumption, while enabling advanced data analytics and business insights.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in ETL processes, data architecture, and system monitoring, with the ability to support production operations and participate in incident response and pipeline performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure reliable and performant data pipelines across the GPN Lakehouse environment
• Design, build, and automate ETL/ELT processes and data ingestion workflows
• Work on data modeling and implement scalable data warehouse/lakehouse architecture
• Participate in the development and maintenance of data pipeline infrastructure using modern ETL tools
• Implement system monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols
• Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous unit testing and validation processes
• Track and document data lineage and ensure compliance with internal data governance standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, DevOps, and business analysts
• Participate in continuous improvement of pipeline reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide on-call support as needed

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in ETL process design, data modeling, and data pipeline development
• Solid understanding of data lake/data warehouse architecture (e.g., Lakehouse concepts)
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and orchestration platforms (e.g., Airflow, Informatica, dbt, etc.)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala)
• Experience with monitoring tools, system health checks, and alerting frameworks
• Familiarity with incident response practices in production environments
• Experience in tracking and managing data lineage and metadata
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
