Site Reliability Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Automate deployment and configuration of cloud resources using Bicep, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
• Build repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure aligned with the Azure Well-Architected Framework.

2. Cloud Operations & Monitoring

• Manage and monitor Azure resources such as VMs, App Services, AKS clusters, and storage.
• Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and custom alerting for performance and health insights.
• Optimize system performance and conduct capacity planning and reliability assessments.

3. Access & Identity Lifecycle Management

• Administer Azure Active Directory for identity and access management.
• Implement and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies and secure access standards.

4. Incident Response & Troubleshooting

• Respond swiftly to cloud incidents and system alerts.
• Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with engineering for long-term resolutions.

5. Security & Compliance

• Enforce cloud security best practices including encryption, key management (Azure Key Vault), and access control.
• Align cloud infrastructure with GDPR, HIPAA, or organizational compliance standards.

6. Cost Optimization & Resource Management

• Monitor and manage Azure spend using Azure Cost Management tools.
• Recommend and implement strategies for efficient scaling and resource utilization.

7. Disaster Recovery & Availability Planning

• Design and maintain robust backup and DR plans across Azure regions.
• Ensure recovery objectives (RTO/RPO) are met and tested regularly.

8. Collaboration & Documentation

• Work with DevOps, Security, and Architecture teams to align infrastructure strategies.
• Maintain detailed documentation for architecture, procedures, and operations.

Specific Deliverables

• Daily operational support for Azure-hosted environments.
• Timely provisioning and access management.
• Incident triaging and resolution.
• Scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure deployments.
• Promotion of SRE practices, including postmortems and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Azure Services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity)
