Position: Site Piping Engineer – Pharma Projects

Reporting To: Site Manager / Construction Manager
Job Location: Harohalli, Bangalore (Client Site)
Experience Required: 5–8 Years
Qualification: BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
Project Phases: Construction, Installation, Testing & Commissioning
Role Overview
Our client, a leading Pharma Engineering Design Consultancy, is looking for a Site Piping Engineer to join their project team at a client manufacturing site in Harohalli, Bangalore.
The selected candidate will act as a key interface between the design office and the site execution team, ensuring timely availability of engineering drawings, effective resolution of site queries, and seamless coordination among various disciplines. The role requires strong experience in design-site coordination, particularly within pharmaceutical or industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Coordination & Drawing Management
- Act as a bridge between the Design Consultant and the Client's site team.
- Ensure timely availability of:
- Approved drawings
- IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings
- Latest drawing revisions required for site execution
- Monitor and track drawing deliverables as per construction progress and project schedules.
2. Site Coordination & RFI Management
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and design teams to resolve RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Address and resolve site-related engineering issues such as:
- Drawing discrepancies or mismatches
- Missing information or design clarifications
- Execution-related challenges
- Ensure quick turnaround of technical queries to avoid impact on site progress.
3. Inter-Discipline Coordination
- Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines including:
- Civil
- Mechanical
- HVAC / Cleanroom
- Electrical
- Instrumentation
- Identify potential clashes between disciplines and facilitate timely resolution.
- Ensure proper integration of piping systems with other plant services.
4. Client & Design Consultant Coordination
- Represent the Design Consultant during client review and coordination meetings.
- Communicate site feedback and client comments to the engineering design team.
- Follow up on:
- Drawing submissions
- Design revisions
- Technical clarifications
- Ensure alignment between design intent and actual site execution requirements.
5. Execution Support & Site Alignment
- Ensure that construction teams are working with the latest approved drawings.
- Provide support in interpreting design intent and technical requirements.
- Monitor site progress against drawing availability.
- Assist in prioritizing engineering deliverables based on the construction sequence.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain and update records related to:
- Drawing status and revision control
- RFI logs
- Pending technical clarifications
- Prepare regular coordination and progress reports.
- Track engineering deliverables against project timelines and proactively highlight delays.
Technical Skill Requirements
Piping Engineering & Coordination
- Strong understanding of piping systems, layouts, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams)
- Isometric drawings
- General Arrangement (GA) drawings
- Basic understanding of site execution practices and construction challenges.
Pharma / Industrial Project Exposure
- Experience in pharmaceutical or industrial engineering projects is preferred.
- Understanding of process piping, clean utilities, and GMP-related requirements will be an added advantage.
Software Knowledge
Working knowledge of:
- AutoCAD
- AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Revit
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Work Model
