Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Site Lead Employee Transportation. The Site Lead will manage day-to-day employee transportation operations, including route planning, shift-wise deployment, and on-time fleet availability. The role involves coordinating with transport vendors, drivers, security teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective commutes for employees. The Site Lead will monitor trip adherence and SLAs, resolve on-ground issues in real time, manage incident escalation, and maintain accurate operational records and reports. Responsibilities also include tracking costs, supporting optimization initiatives, driving process improvements, and ensuring adherence to company and client safety, compliance, and audit standards at the site.
Qualifications
- Experience in employee transportation management, facility operations, or corporate mobility at a site or regional level.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, drivers, security, HR, and business leaders.
- Operational planning and coordination skills, including route planning, roster management, and shift-based transport deployment.
- Proficiency with transport or fleet management systems, basic MS Excel and reporting, and comfort working with data to track KPIs.
- Demonstrated focus on safety, compliance, and risk management in people transport operations, including familiarity with audit and statutory requirements.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle on-ground issues, escalations, and service disruptions calmly and efficiently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages in Chennai is an advantage.
- Ability to work in shift-based schedules as required by client operations, including early morning or late evening coverage when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline preferred; relevant certifications in logistics, transport, or facility management are a plus.
- Prior experience in IT/ITES, BPO, or large enterprise environments with sizable employee transport operations is beneficial.
