Job Description

Pradeepit Consulting Services is seeking an experienced Telecom Tester (OSS/BSS) to join our team. As a Telecom Tester, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive testing activities for our telecom products and services. This role requires a strong understanding of telecom systems, particularly CSG SingleView (Customer Management/Customer Billing Modules), and a proven ability to ensure the quality and reliability of our solutions through meticulous manual and automated testing.

Responsibilities

  • Testing Execution: Conduct manual testing activities to ensure the quality and reliability of telecom products and services, with a strong understanding of telecom billing processes, including rating, invoicing, and payments.
  • Test Artifacts: Create and execute test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Automation Usage: Utilize automated test scripts to conduct Functional / Regression tests.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and report defects, issues, and risks in a clear and concise manner using appropriate defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and designers, to understand requirements and provide input. Be an active participant in defect troubleshooting calls along with Development and Environment support teams to narrow down issues and assign defects appropriately.
  • Testing Types: Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing to validate telecom software applications and systems.
  • Reporting: Publish testing status reports and closure reports to stakeholders.
  • Test Data & Tools: Assist in the creation of test data and test tools to support testing activities.
  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in telecom testing.

Required Skills

  • Telecom Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of telecom systems (BSS/OSS) and working experience in CRM, Billing, Order Management, Provisioning, and other related systems.
  • CSG SingleView: Working experience on CSG SingleView (Customer Management/Customer Billing Modules).
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency in SQL and basic UNIX commands.
  • Test Management: Proficient in creating and executing test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
  • Defect & Test Management Tools: Experience with defect tracking tools and test management tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Methodologies: Knowledge of telecom testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of telecom Inventory Management Systems and POS.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Understanding of telecom protocols (e.g., Diameter, SOAP, REST).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Six Sigma) are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Typically seeking candidates with 3-7 years of experience in manual testing within the telecom industry.
