Job Description
Single-Cell Bioinformatics Scientist (PhD), Precision Oncology
: France (hybrid) or remote, to be confirmed
: Contract or permanent, to be confirmed
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A funded European precision-oncology company is building the clinical application of single-cell technology: taking single-cell profiling out of the research lab and into routine cancer care. Their work already spans multiple cancer types and has been validated with leading cancer centres across Europe and the US. The output is patient-level insight that clinicians use to inform treatment decisions and that pharma partners use for biomarker discovery.
The team is small, senior and scientifically driven, with computational biologists working side by side with AI and ML specialists. You would work on real patient data at the point where single-cell science becomes clinical impact, with a direct line to the scientists shaping the field.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
-
• PhD in which the doctoral research was itself in single-cell analysis
• Deep, hands-on single-cell bioinformatics as a primary specialisation
• Oncology focus
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
• A publication record in single-cell oncology, ideally in high-impact journals
• Single-cell transcriptomics (scRNA-seq) on patient tumour samples
• Work on treatment response, resistance mechanisms, or tumour and immune profiling
• Fluency in the standard single-cell analysis stack (R and/or Python, established single-cell toolkits, NGS data)
• Experience with clinical cohort data across multiple sites
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
• Single-cell multi-omics, including epigenetic layers
• Experience with challenging sample types, such as archived pathology material
• Biomarker discovery delivered to pharma partners
• Comfort working alongside AI/ML engineers on shared data
