Job Description

Simulation Engineer – Strength & Durability

We are seeking a Simulation Engineer Strength Durability with 5 to 7 years of experience specializing in FEA. Based in Pune, this hybrid role focuses on static structural, durability, and fatigue analysis using ANSYS Workbench. You will optimize powertrain components, manage geometry modifications in Space Claim, and simulate complex structural behaviours like bolt preloads to ensure product reliability.

  • Analyze: Conduct advanced linear and non-linear static structural analyses on powertrain assemblies.
  • Assess Durability: Perform fatigue and durability simulations to predict and extend component lifecycles.
  • Model Bolted Joints: Set up and simulate precise bolt preloads and contact nonlinearities.
  • Modify Geometry: Use Space Claim to clean, prepare, and modify 3D CAD geometry for optimal meshing.
  • Optimize: Propose design changes based on stress, strain, and fatigue results to prevent structural failure.
  • Correlate: Validate simulation models against physical test data to improve simulation accuracy.
  • Document: Generate comprehensive technical reports and present structural findings to design teams.

Your Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of core CAE/FEA experience (automotive powertrain domain will be an added advantage).
  • Software: Expert proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Space Claim.
  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in defining contact interactions, mesh refinement, and bolt preload simulation.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of powertrain components (e.g., engine/motor casings, mounts, or transmission housings), casting materials, and fatigue theories.
