Job Description

We are looking for a Simulation Engineer to join an advanced technology team working on next-generation digital twin, robotics, and industrial simulation solutions.

You will work on building highly realistic virtual environments that replicate physical systems, machinery, and robotic processes. These simulation platforms will be used for scenario testing, process validation, virtual commissioning, offline programming, and AI-driven optimization.

This is a hands-on engineering role combining software development, robotics, 3D simulation, physics-based modelling, and real-time systems.

Responsibilities

Simulation Platform Development

  • Build and enhance scalable simulation applications and workflows for digital twin use cases.
  • Develop reusable tools, extensions, and services for simulation environments.
  • Contribute to the architecture and development of scalable simulation platforms.
  • Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to translate real-world requirements into virtual simulation environments.

3D & Digital Twin Development

  • Develop and maintain 3D asset pipelines for use across simulation environments.
  • Integrate CAD and 3D assets into virtual environments while maintaining technical accuracy and performance.
  • Manage complex 3D scenes, assets, configurations, and variations.
  • Work closely with 3D and engineering teams to optimize assets for real-time simulation.

Robotics Simulation

  • Integrate and configure industrial robot models within simulation environments.
  • Work with robot descriptions and articulated systems, including kinematic chains, joints, constraints, and motion behaviours.
  • Develop and validate robot interactions with equipment, tooling, components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Build simulation scenarios to evaluate robotic movements and manufacturing processes.
  • Support use cases such as offline programming, virtual commissioning, process validation, and sim-to-real development.
  • Help establish validation criteria and assumptions for robotic simulation models.

Performance & Integration

  • Optimize simulation and real-time rendering performance for responsive, high-fidelity virtual environments.
  • Integrate simulation platforms with external systems, APIs, and industrial data sources.
  • Develop connectors that allow real-world data to be synchronized with virtual models.
  • Support integration with IoT/industrial middleware and enterprise systems.

Innovation & Collaboration

  • Work with engineering teams across different disciplines to establish simulation best practices and standards.
  • Document technical solutions, development practices, and reusable frameworks.
  • Stay up to date with developments in robotics simulation, digital twins, physical AI, and real-time 3D technologies.
  • Contribute to new simulation capabilities and proof-of-concept initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Around 3-7 years of experience in simulation software, robotics, real-time systems, or related engineering environments.
  • Strong programming experience in Python C++ experience is highly advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D simulation or digital twin platforms such as NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Unity, or similar.
  • Good understanding of robotics fundamentals, including kinematics, dynamics, motion, and control.
  • Experience working with URDF or articulated robotic systems.
  • Understanding of physics-based simulation and 3D mathematics.
  • Experience with USD-based workflows or similar 3D scene/asset frameworks.
  • Familiarity with real-time rendering and physics engines.
  • Experience with ROS / ROS2 and robotics software frameworks.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating real-time data into virtual environments.
  • Exposure to industrial robotics, manufacturing automation, or automated systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience applying AI/ML to simulation, such as reinforcement learning, synthetic data generation, or sim-to-real workflows, would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across software, robotics, and engineering teams.
