Location-Germany
- Degree in Engineering or a related field. Bachelors in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical, Computer.
- Experience or understanding of signalling systems and principles
- Network Addressing Plan, ETCS (European Train Control System), CBTC (Communication-Based Train Control), or PTC (Positive Train Control)
- Knowledge of design documentation processes and tools
- Familiarity with system interfacing and integration
- A certification in railway signalling (preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience or understanding of safety systems, also in areas other than railways.
- Knowledge of network and telecommunications solutions
Collaborating with the Project Engineering Manager, Project Manager, Project Architect, and Design team to address technical topics related to signalling systems
- Adhering to signalling design principles, project schedules, and relevant management plans (e.g., Project Engineering Plan, Change Management Plan, Configuration Management Plan)
- Analyzing and confirming inputs provided to the Project Engineering Manager and Subsystem Leaders to complete the design and architecture for the signalling scope
- Ensuring feedback from supervisors or customers is adequately implemented and responded to in submitted documents
- Verifying and analyzing design documents, such as Scheme Plans, Signalling Rules, System Naming Rules, Network Addressing Plans, and System Databases
- Interfacing with Engineering, Installation, Testing & Commissioning, and Validation teams to ensure proper handovers and clarification of inputs
- Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation through Return on Experience (RoE) and work method statements
