Should Costing
Experience - 6-12Years

- B.E. / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 6 to 12 years of industry experience as Should costing engineer
- Working exposure to manufacturing processes of various engineering commodities for passenger car parts (Castings, Forgings, Sheet metal, Machined items, Plastic, Rubber, assemblies, etc.)
- Hands on exposure to new product development with supplier end. Technical support to vendor for process mapping, machine selection
- Cost calculations for reference/target cost and negotiations for new components
- Understanding of cost and drivers and independent cost calculations with minimal support
- Knowledge about different machines, machines hourly rate, overheads etc.
- Supplier quote analysis and providing comprehensive report / negotiation dossier to Commodity team for Price negotiation discussion with Supplier
- Should Cost Analysis and RFQ Management, Price negotiation.
- Hands on experience of cost mapping for engineering parts & assemblies. Should be able to define best suited manufacturing process, machine selection, cycle time calculations.
- Drawing reading, good knowledge of GD&T.
- Defining production process based on drawings & spec. for given parts, sub-assembly & assembly
- Working experience of various should costing software like aPriori, Costimator, TcPCM
