Role Overview We are seeking a Shopify Engineer with strong expertise in platform engineering, systems integrations, and commerce ecosystem evaluation. This role focuses on integrating Shopify with enterprise applications, evaluating third-party tools/platforms, and enabling scalable commerce operations across customer, inventory, fulfillment, and analytics systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Shopify integrations with enterprise systems including ERP, OMS, CRM, WMS, payment gateways, and marketing platforms
- Evaluate third-party Shopify apps, integration tools, middleware, and automation platforms
- Build scalable APIs, middleware services, and event-driven integrations
- Work closely with business stakeholders to assess operational gaps and recommend technical solutions
- Support integrations with platforms such as Oracle EBS, Elastic Suite, PLM systems, Shopify apps, shipping providers, and customer engagement tools
- Troubleshoot integration failures, synchronization issues, and performance bottlenecks
- Define integration architecture, security standards, and deployment practices
- Collaborate with UI/UX, merchandising, operations, and analytics teams
- Support automation initiatives for order lifecycle, inventory updates, product synchronization, and customer notifications
- Participate in solution architecture reviews and platform modernization initiatives
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Shopify APIs and Shopify Plus
- Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, middleware, and microservices
- Strong understanding of eCommerce operations and integrations
- Experience with tools such as Postman, Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Boomi, or custom integration frameworks
- Knowledge of order management, inventory, fulfillment, and payment workflows
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Strong debugging and systems analysis skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Elastic Suite, Oracle EBS, Kinaxis, PLM, or other enterprise retail platforms
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Exposure to headless commerce and composable architecture
- Understanding of B2B commerce flows and marketplace integrations
