Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize our Shopify store's backend infrastructure which has over 800 products
- Integrate and maintain third-party apps, APIs, and services to enhance the store's functionality
- Collaborate with the front-end development team to ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems
- Write clean, well-documented, and scalable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve any backend-related issues, ensuring maximum uptime and performance
- Continuously research and implement new technologies, frameworks, and best practices to improve the store's backend infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and other developers, to meet project milestones and deliverables
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed
This Role Requires:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on Shopify and e-commerce platforms
- Expertise in server-side languages, such as Ruby on Rails, Python, or Node.js (Either of the one is must)
- In-depth knowledge of Shopify's Liquid template language, API, and app ecosystem
- Proficient in database management, with experience using PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Nice to Have:
- Experience with front-end development technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms other than Shopify, such as WooCommerce, Magento, or BigCommerce
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques and tools
