Job Summary
DigitalXnode is looking for an experienced Shopify Developer to support our client's eCommerce projects in India. This role is for someone who is comfortable working directly on Shopify stores and can make or new theme or modify them.
Resource would be responsible for building and modifying Shopify storefronts, improving product and collection pages, connecting third-party applications. A practical understanding of working online store from both a technical and customer perspective will be important.
This is a remote opportunity and can be offered as full-time, part-time or contractual.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and customise Shopify storefronts in line with project and business requirements.
- Develop and modify Shopify themes using Liquid.
- Work on product, collection and other storefront pages to improve functionality and user experience.
- Handle checkout-related requirements within the capabilities and plan limitations of the Shopify platform.
- Integrate relevant Shopify apps and third-party services.
- Support payment gateway and shipping integrations where required.
- Assist with product uploads, product migration and store migration activities.
- Review and improve storefront performance, page speed and overall usability.
- Make sure the storefront works properly across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
- Work with designers, project managers and other team members to deliver assigned changes.
- Investigate and fix issues related to themes, apps, integrations and storefront behaviour.
Required Skills
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience building or maintaining Shopify stores.
- Good working knowledge of Shopify and Liquid.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
- Experience with Shopify theme customisation and storefront development.
- Understanding of eCommerce UX and the factors that influence conversion.
- Previous working experience in integrating Shopify apps and external services.
- Working knowledge of payment and shipping integrations.
- Exposure to product or store migration will be useful.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote setup.
AI Experience
Experience with AI-assisted tools for coding, troubleshooting, documentation or development productivity may be useful. However, this is not a mandatory requirement for the role.
Managerial Experience
This is primarily an individual contributor position. Previous team-handling experience is not required. The candidate should, however, be comfortable coordinating with designers, developers, project managers and other stakeholders when needed.
Operational Experience
- Experience working on live Shopify stores and handling regular development changes.
- Ability to understand requirements and convert them into workable Shopify solutions.
- Experience managing theme changes and third-party integrations.
- Should understand website performance and optimisation.
- Ability to identify issues, test fixes and close assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
Qualifications
- Any Graduate. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline will be an advantage.
- Relevant hands-on Shopify experience and a portfolio of completed work will be given due consideration.
Certifications
Relevant certifications in Shopify, web development, JavaScript or front-end development may be an advantage, but are not mandatory.
Experience
2+ Years of relevant Shopify development experience.
