About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Shopify App Developer to join FenixCommerce
in our Noida office. The ideal candidate has deep experience building public and custom Shopify apps across both frontend and backend systems and understands the technical, UX, performance, and compliance requirements needed for the Built for Shopify program.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable commerce applications, solving complex merchant problems, and leveraging AI-powered development tools to accelerate engineering productivity while maintaining high-quality code standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Shopify applications for merchants and enterprise brands
- Develop embedded Shopify apps using Shopify App Bridge, Polaris, Admin APIs, and Storefront APIs
- Build scalable backend services and APIs that integrate with Shopify and third-party systems
- Develop high-quality merchant-facing frontend experiences within Shopify Admin and storefront environments
- Ensure apps meet Shopify's Built for Shopify standards for UX, performance, reliability, and security
- Work closely with product, design, AI/ML, and platform engineering teams
- Optimize app performance, scalability, and API efficiency
- Implement secure authentication, billing, webhooks, and app lifecycle management
- Troubleshoot production issues and maintain high uptime and merchant satisfaction
- Use AI coding tools and automation frameworks to significantly improve development efficiency and delivery velocity
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building Shopify apps
- Proven experience shipping public or custom Shopify applications
- Strong understanding of Shopify ecosystem and architecture
- Experience with:
- Shopify Polaris
- App Bridge
- Shopify Admin API
- Storefront API
- Webhooks
- OAuth and Shopify authentication flows
- Strong frontend development skills using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strong backend development experience with Node.js and/or Python
- Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
- Experience deploying applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong understanding of API design, scalability, caching, and security best practices
- Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with apps approved under Shopify's Built for Shopify program
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS applications
- Familiarity with ecommerce operations, shipping, checkout, subscriptions, or fulfillment workflows
- Experience with Remix, Next.js, GraphQL, and serverless architectures
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into commerce applications
- Understanding of performance optimization and Core Web Vitals
- Prior startup or high-growth SaaS experience
