Role Description The Ship Operations Manager – Dry Bulk (Post-Fixture) will oversee day-to-day post-fixture operations for dry bulk voyages, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of charter party agreements. This full-time, on-site role is based in Chennai and involves close coordination with charterers, brokers, vessel owners, masters, and internal teams to manage fixture confirmations, voyage instructions, and operational follow-up. Responsibilities include monitoring vessel positions and performance, handling laytime and demurrage calculations, tracking cargo operations, and resolving operational issues and disputes in line with contractual obligations. The role also includes preparing operational reports, maintaining accurate documentation within Marlo's platform, supporting compliance with regulatory and company standards, and contributing to process improvements for voyage and fleet management.

Qualifications
- Strong dry bulk shipping operations expertise, including post-fixture management, charter party interpretation, laytime and demurrage handling, and voyage execution.
- Professional experience in voyage planning, cargo operations coordination, port and terminal liaison, and vessel performance monitoring.
- Solid knowledge of maritime regulations, risk and compliance practices, sanctions monitoring, and safety and environmental standards.
- Proficiency using maritime ERP or shipping operations systems, with comfort working in data-driven dashboards and integrated accounting or finance tools.
- Advanced analytical and numerical skills for cost control, operational KPIs, and financial impact assessment of voyage decisions.
- Clear and effective communication skills, including report writing, stakeholder coordination, and negotiation with external partners.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to handle multiple voyages and priorities simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; relevant industry certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in dry bulk shipping operations, chartering support, or commercial vessel management; experience in a technology-enabled shipping environment is a plus.
