Job Description

Job Purpose

Monitoring and executing post spinning winding and packing in plant 4 to achieve targeted production within set norms of quality & cost to give timely delivery of quality products.

Job Context & Major Challenges

  • Winding comes last in the Linen Yarn Manufacturing process. Hence, it's a major challenge to develop a robust system through which quality product is assured to all internal & external customers. Any lapse in the system may bring in complaint from our valued customers.
  • Productivity achievement in line with Chinese manufacturers.
  • To maintain 1.5 days doff balance & 2.5 days process stock of spinning production

KRA1 Winding Productivity

  • Monitor productivity of winding machines as per target.
  • Maintain drum allocation as per the productivity of R/F by changing the cone in minimum time and ensuring all bobbins are always stocked in the winding machine.
  • Co-ordination with Spinning section about spin plan.
  • Monitoring hard waste shift wise, m/c wise and taking corrective action accordingly.

KRA2 Winding Quality Control

  • Plan and monitor the bobbin color scheme at the Winding to reduce color variation and black stain generation.
  • Lot wise segregation of doffs after dry in RF Dryer to avoid mix up.
  • To ensure that workers put zero lapeta to generate hard waste less than 3% for full year through OTJ training
  • Monitor the cleanliness of Winding Machines as per SOP.
  • Regular checking of cone shape, splice quality, tail ends, and yarn cuts.

KRA3 Cost Control

  • Controlling the hard waste shift wise, m/c wise and acting accordingly.
  • Co-ordinating with spinning to reduce ends down and improve doff weight.
  • Maintaining targeted. Cycle/splice after study the cuts reasons.
  • Manpower planning to attain wage optimization and reduce OT hands.

KRA4 Business Excellence

  • Creating a culture of innovation in the shop floor among the workmen through on the job training
  • Enabling regular Kaizen submission and feedback
  • Maintaining proper housekeeping by 5S
  • Taking part in WCM activities as required

KRA5 Safety and Sustainability

  • Ensure all work is carried out in the standard of safety.
  • Ensure the controlling of wastage and optimum utilization of man, material, and machine.
