Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project SHE Plan in line with statutory, client, and company requirements.
  • Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments / HIRA / JSA for all activities.
  • Ensure implementation of safe systems of work, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Monitor compliance with PPE usage, safe work practices, and site safety rules.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accident statistics and safety performance indicators (TRIR, LTIFR, etc.).
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness and response plans, including mock drills
  • Ensure compliance with applicable national and local SHE legislation (Factories Act, BOCW Act, OSHA, Environmental Acts, etc.).
  • Liaise with government authorities, statutory bodies, and auditors.
  • Support internal, external, and client SHE audits and inspections.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit findings and non-conformances.
  • Develop and conduct SHE induction training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Organize toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and behavioral safety programs.
  • Assess competency and certification requirements for high-risk activities (working at height, lifting, confined space, etc.).

Qualifications & Experience Educational Qualification

  • Any Science Graduate with Govt. recognized full time regular Diploma in Safety.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in full-fledged SHE department of any Public Sector/Leading Private Sector/MNC/with prior approval of the Engineer on a case-to-case basis.
  • At least 2 years of experience in railways, metro, bullet train projects.
