The ServiceNow Software Engineer is a key member of Shell's Agile DevOps team, responsible for the development, configuration, maintenance, and integration of ServiceNow solutions. This role spans the full software development lifecycle, including design, programming, deployment, and decommissioning of software and third-party packages.
You will serve as a technical expert for the ServiceNow modules under your care, ensuring robust support and continuous improvement of the platform.
What's the role
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end software solutions across the full SDLC, including design, development, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Provide support and continuous improvement for ServiceNow modules, primarily GRC, along with ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, SecOps, LSD, and overall platform capabilities.
- Resolve defects and implement enhancements within Agile sprint cycles.
- Contribute to platform upgrades and the rollout of new features.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners (PO), Service Operations Managers (SOM), Architecture teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Evaluate and assess incoming GRC-related ServiceNow requests in coordination with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) or designated Product Owner.
- Lead a team of Operations Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues within ServiceNow GRC applications.
- Manage a team of ServiceNow Testers to perform manual and Automated Test Framework (ATF) testing for new features and defect fixes.
- Actively participate in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning sessions.
- Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices and standards.
What we need from you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong software engineering background with 4–7 years of experience in ServiceNow.
- Proficiency in:
- HTML5, CSS, AJAX, .Net, Java, Webservices, Glide Record
- Client & Server-side scripting, API integrations, ACL debugging
- Experience with SaaS platforms, COTS software, and ServiceNow scripting.
- Familiarity with Agile/DevOps methodologies, CI/CD, and iterative development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a global, virtual environment.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow administration, scripting, and integration.
- Development experience in ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, GRC, SecOps and LSD.
