ServiceNow Secops Senior Developer – Job Description
We are looking for a ServiceNow integration specialist having 8+ years experience in ServiceNow development & integrations.
This integration specialist in ServiceNow will be responsible for connecting the Qualys Cloud Platform (vulnerability scanner) with the ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) module.
This role bridges security teams and IT operations to automate vulnerability detection, prioritization, and remediation.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Configuration: Configure the Qualys Vulnerability Integration app (typically from the ServiceNow Store) to import vulnerability data, host detections, and risk classifications.
Data Mapping & Normalization
- Map Qualys assets to the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to reconcile and identify CIs (Configuration Items).
- Scheduled Imports: Set up and manage scheduled jobs to automate the flow of vulnerability findings from Qualys to ServiceNow.
Workflow Automation
- Configure remediation assignment rules to automatically assign Vulnerable Items (VIs) to the appropriate IT owners.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Monitor and resolve API limitations or data discrepancies in the integration, ensuring data integrity.
Supporting Modules
- Implement additional modules such as Qualys Container Security or Configuration Compliance (CSPM) to improve cloud security posture.
Essential Skills And Requirements
- ServiceNow Knowledge: Experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and ServiceNow Store applications.
- Qualys Platform: Strong knowledge of Qualys VMDR (Vulnerability Management, Detection, and Response).
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of REST APIs, JavaScript (for Scripted REST APIs/Transform Maps), and JSON.
- Security & IT Operations: Familiarity with vulnerability management workflows, risk classification, and asset management.
