ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a seasoned ServiceNow Developer with approximately 8 years of hands-on experience to join our platform engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade workflows and integrations on the ServiceNow platform, working closely with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep technical fluency across ServiceNow's Java-based backend, data layer (MariaDB/RaptorDB), Linux infrastructure, and is actively transitioning frontend work toward React-based Next Experience UI (NowUI).
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop complex ServiceNow applications, custom workflows, and integrations aligned with business requirements and platform best practices.
- Build and maintain server-side scripting using Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, and REST/SOAP API integrations on the Java-based ServiceNow backend.
- Develop and enhance frontend components using the Next Experience UI framework (React-based), migrating legacy UI Pages and Jelly scripts to modern NowUI widgets.
- Manage and optimize ServiceNow data structures, including tables, relationships, and data models leveraging MariaDB/RaptorDB storage layers.
- Administer and troubleshoot ServiceNow instances on Linux-based infrastructure, including performance tuning, log analysis, and environment configuration.
- Mentor junior developers, lead code reviews, and drive platform governance across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and CSM modules.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including platform certifications (CSA, CAD, or equivalent).
- Strong proficiency in ServiceNow server-side scripting — Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, and GlideRecord APIs — on the Java-based platform backend.
- Experience with ServiceNow's data architecture, including direct knowledge of MariaDB/RaptorDB schemas, query optimization, and database performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of Linux system administration as it relates to ServiceNow instance management (log files, disk I/O, memory tuning, OS-level diagnostics).
- Hands-on experience with Next Experience UI (NowUI) framework and React-based component development within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
- Proven expertise in REST/SOAP integrations, MID Server configuration, Integration Hub, and CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow deployments.
