Job Title

ServiceNow Designer – ITSM / ITAM / SecOps

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Designer with deep functional, solution, and integration design expertise across ITSM, ITAM, or SecOps. The role is responsible for end‑to‑end solution and integration design on the ServiceNow platform, translating business and operational requirements into scalable, secure, and user‑centric solutions, aligned with platform best practices and enterprise architecture standards.

The Designer will act as a functional and integration SME, working closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, API developers, and delivery teams across large, complex ServiceNow programmes.

Key Responsibilities (Common Across All Specialisations)

Solution, Functional & Integration Design

• Own end‑to‑end functional, solution, and integration design for ServiceNow implementations and enhancements.

• Translate business, operational, regulatory, and integration requirements into high‑quality design artefacts (HLDs, LLDs, sequence diagrams, process flows, data models, and integration specifications).

• Design REST API‑based integrations, including request/response patterns, authentication mechanisms, versioning strategies, and field mappings.

• Define and document JSON schemas, payload structures, and transformation rules between ServiceNow and external systems.

• Ensure designs align with ServiceNow OOTB capabilities, platform roadmap, enterprise integration architecture, and industry best practices.

• Define configuration vs customisation decisions, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and upgrade readiness.

• Design for error handling, retries, idempotency, and failure scenarios to ensure resilient integrations.

• Support event‑driven and asynchronous integration patterns, where applicable.

Stakeholder, Integration & Delivery Engagement

• Engage with business users, process owners, security teams, architects, and IT leadership to validate functional and integration requirements.

• Act as a design authority, working closely with ServiceNow developers, API developers, and testers to translate designs into build‑ready specifications.

• Collaborate with integration, middleware, and platform teams to ensure alignment across enterprise systems.

• Participate in design reviews, sprint ceremonies, UAT support, defect triage, and integration testing activities.

Governance, Architecture & Quality

• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow governance, integration standards, CMDB/CSDM principles, security standards, and compliance requirements.

• Support impact analysis for new integrations, releases, upgrades, and platform changes.

• Contribute to continuous improvement, automation opportunities, reuse of integration patterns, and technical debt reduction.

Specialisation Responsibilities

Option 1: ServiceNow Designer – ITSM

• Design and optimise ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfilment, Knowledge, and Service Level Management.

• Define service catalog structures, workflows, SLAs/OLAs, assignment models, and Agent Workspace experiences.

• Design integrations with monitoring, identity, collaboration, and enterprise tooling using REST APIs or event‑based patterns.

• Ensure alignment with ITIL/ITSM best practices and enterprise service management goals.

Option 2: ServiceNow Designer – ITAM

• Design end‑to‑end asset lifecycle processes across Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM).

• Define data models, workflows, and integrations for procurement, discovery, CMDB, compliance, and financial systems.

• Design secure and scalable data exchanges between ServiceNow, vendors, discovery tools, and ERP platforms.

• Support license compliance, audits, optimisation, and reconciliation use cases.

Option 3: ServiceNow Designer – SecOps

• Design Security Operations workflows including Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, and Threat Intelligence.

• Translate security requirements into automated workflows, playbooks, dashboards, and integrations with security tools.

• Design integrations with SIEM, vulnerability scanners, threat intelligence platforms, and event sources.

• Ensure designs comply with enterprise security, risk, and regulatory frameworks.

• Hands‑on experience designing REST APIs, JSON payloads, sequence diagrams, and end‑to‑end system integrations.

• Understanding of error handling, retries, idempotency, and event‑driven architectures.

• Experience working in large, complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.

Desirable
