ServiceNow CMDB Architect

The ServiceNow CMDB Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. This role ensures alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), drives CMDB governance, and integrates with ITSM and ITOM processes to enable enterprise-wide service visibility and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership:
• Define and maintain CMDB architecture aligned with CSDM and enterprise IT strategy.
• Establish architecture standards and best practices for CMDB and related modules.
• Lead ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping implementations.
• Governance & Data Integrity:
• Develop and enforce CMDB governance policies and procedures.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and lifecycle management of Configuration Items (CIs).
• Conduct audits and remediation activities to maintain CMDB health.
• Integration & Collaboration:
• Integrate CMDB with external systems using APIs, MID Servers, and other tools.
• Collaborate with ITSM, ITOM, and other teams to support IT processes.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Technical Execution:
• Configure and customize ServiceNow modules including ITSM, CMDB, SAM/HAM, and Service Catalog.
• Perform scripting (JavaScript, GlideScript) and platform administration.
• Conduct code and functional reviews to ensure quality and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery.
• Deep understanding of CSDM, ITSM, ITOM, and configuration management principles.
• Experience designing CI classes, attributes, and relationships.
• Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting and integration techniques.
• Ability to work in Agile environments and lead technical workshops.
