The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and implementing solutions within the ServiceNow platform to support IT Service Management (ITSM) and other enterprise workflows. This role collaborates with process owners, architects, administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, highquality solutions that align with organizational goals and ServiceNow best practices.
Design and develop applications, modules, and customizations on the ServiceNow platform.
Configure and customize Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, and GlideRecord scripts.
Build and configure Catalog Items, Record Producers, Workflows, Flow Designer flows, and Scheduled Jobs.
Develop integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Server, and IntegrationHub.
Implement and enhance ServiceNow modules including ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, CMDB, Knowledge).
Work with ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping), ITAM/HAM/SAM, HRSD, CSM, and SPM as required.
Participate in platform upgrades, patching, and regression testing.
Translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
Provide effort estimates and technical feasibility analysis.
Ensure alignment with ServiceNow best practices and governance.
Develop API integrations with internal and external systems.
Automate processes using Flow Designer and IntegrationHub.
Integrate with tools such as Active Directory, SCCM and SailPoint as needed.
Troubleshoot platform issues and provide root cause analysis.
Resolve incidents and requests related to ServiceNow.
Monitor platform performance, stability, and security.
Maintain documentation, configuration records, and runbooks.
Follow coding standards, naming conventions, and development best practices.
Perform code reviews to ensure compliance with security and ACL rules.
Support SDLC activities across Dev, Test, and Prod environments.
37 years of handson ServiceNow development experience.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (clientside and serverside).
Experience with Glide APIs, GlideRecord, Business Rules, Script Includes.
Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and Flow Designer.
Understanding of ITSM processes and ITIL practices.
Strong knowledge of ServiceNow data models, ACLs, and CMDB.
ServiceNow CSA certification.
CIS certifications (ITSM, HRSD, Discovery, CSM, etc.).
Experience with Scoped Applications and ATF.
Experience with Service Portal or UI Builder.
Knowledge of MID Server, IntegrationHub Spokes, and Agile/Scrum.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
