About the Company

Sterile Safequip & Chemicals Limited is a growing medical equipment and IVD manufacturing company engaged in the design, manufacturing, installation, servicing, and technical support of sterilization equipment and diagnostic instruments.

The company's product portfolio includes ETO sterilizers, plasma sterilizers, ESR analyzers, coagulation analyzers, chemistry analyzers, and related biomedical and laboratory equipment.

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Service Head – Biomedical & Medical Equipment to lead our service department, strengthen customer support, manage installations and breakdown services, and ensure high-quality after-sales support across domestic and international markets.

Role Overview

The Service Head – Biomedical & Medical Equipment will be responsible for managing the complete service operations of the company's medical, biomedical, sterilization, and IVD diagnostic equipment.

The candidate will lead the service engineering team, handle critical customer complaints, plan installation and preventive maintenance activities, support field engineers, and ensure timely resolution of service issues.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, customer-handling skills, and practical experience in servicing medical or biomedical equipment.

Key ResponsibilitiesService Department Management
  • Lead, train, and supervise the service engineering team.
  • Allocate installation, breakdown, preventive maintenance, AMC, and customer support work to service engineers.
  • Monitor engineer performance, response time, service quality, and customer feedback.
  • Develop technical skills of junior engineers through training, field guidance, and service process improvement.
  • Build a disciplined and accountable service culture within the department.
Installation & Commissioning
  • Plan and supervise installation and commissioning of medical equipment, sterilizers, and IVD diagnostic instruments.
  • Ensure proper product demonstration, user training, and handover after installation.
  • Verify that installation reports, warranty documents, service reports, and customer sign-offs are properly completed.
  • Coordinate with customers, dealers, distributors, and internal teams for smooth installation planning.
Breakdown & Technical Support
  • Handle critical breakdowns and escalated customer complaints.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers and field engineers.
  • Diagnose hardware, software, electrical, electronic, mechanical, sensor, pump, valve, and application-related issues.
  • Ensure minimum downtime of customer equipment through fast and accurate troubleshooting.
  • Support service engineers in difficult technical cases.
Preventive Maintenance, AMC & CMC
  • Plan and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Manage AMC and CMC service obligations.
  • Ensure timely maintenance visits and proper documentation.
  • Track equipment performance and improve uptime through proactive service planning.
  • Follow up with customers for service renewals, warranty support, and maintenance requirements.
Customer Support & Relationship Management
  • Act as the main technical contact for key customers, hospitals, laboratories, dealers, and distributors.
  • Ensure professional communication with customers during installation, service, complaint resolution, and follow-up.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships by providing reliable and timely after-sales support.
  • Support business growth by improving customer satisfaction and service confidence.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain proper records of installation reports, service reports, customer complaints, spare parts usage, warranty claims, and maintenance history.
  • Prepare service performance reports for management.
  • Track recurring issues and coordinate with production, QC, R&D, and software teams for permanent solutions.
  • Ensure all service activities follow company quality, safety, and documentation requirements.
Spare Parts & Inventory Coordination
  • Coordinate with stores, purchase, production, and service teams for availability of critical spare parts.
  • Monitor spare parts consumption and recommend minimum stock levels.
  • Support warranty analysis and identify repeated component failures.
  • Ensure service engineers carry necessary tools, parts, and documentation for field visits.
Product Feedback & Improvement
  • Collect field feedback from customers and service engineers.
  • Coordinate with design, production, QC, and software teams for product improvement.
  • Identify repeated service issues and suggest design or process improvements.
  • Help improve equipment reliability, serviceability, usability, and customer experience.
Required Qualification
  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field.
  • Candidates with strong practical experience in medical equipment servicing will be preferred.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in biomedical, medical equipment, laboratory equipment, or diagnostic equipment servicing.
  • Prior experience in leading a service team is preferred.
  • Experience with sterilizers, IVD instruments, laboratory analyzers, hospital equipment, or diagnostic equipment will be an advantage.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of medical, biomedical, and diagnostic equipment servicing.
  • Good understanding of electronics, electrical systems, sensors, pumps, valves, motors, controllers, PLCs, and basic software-related troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals, technical drawings, and troubleshooting documents.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good customer communication and complaint-handling ability.
  • Ability to travel for installations, service support, training, and customer visits.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with ownership of service quality and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Knowledge
  • ETO sterilizers and plasma sterilizers.
  • ESR analyzers, coagulation analyzers, chemistry analyzers, or other IVD diagnostic instruments.
  • AMC / CMC management.
  • Dealer and distributor service support.
  • Installation, commissioning, calibration, and service documentation.
  • Basic regulatory, quality system, and safety awareness for medical devices.
Candidate Profile
