Job Summary
PMI is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, calibration, maintenance, and customer training for PMI instruments and systems.
The candidate will work closely with customers, sales teams, R&D teams, manufacturing teams, and application engineers to ensure high-quality technical support and customer satisfaction. The role will also involve supporting next-generation intelligent testing systems featuring automation, AI-assisted diagnostics, and smart testing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Install and commission PMI instruments at customer locations.
- Perform system setup, calibration, validation, and operational verification.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Verify instrument performance and ensure successful customer handover.
Technical Service & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, pressure, flow, vacuum, and software-related issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities.
- Support remote troubleshooting via phone, email, video conferencing, and remote access tools.
- Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation.
AI-Assisted Service & Smart Diagnostics
- Support AI-assisted troubleshooting, smart diagnostics, and automated testing features in PMI instruments.
- Assist customers in using AI-based test workflows, automated reports, and intelligent system alerts.
- Collect field feedback to help improve AI-assisted service tools, testing protocols, and predictive maintenance features.
- Work with engineering teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve service speed, accuracy, and customer support.
- Support automated data acquisition systems and intelligent monitoring tools used in PMI equipment.
Customer Support & Training
- Provide technical support to domestic and international customers.
- Train customers on instrument operation, software usage, testing procedures, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Assist customers in understanding test methods and system functionality.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer service requests and technical issues.
Repair & Maintenance
- Repair and maintain sensors, regulators, valves, pumps, pressure systems, flow control systems, vacuum systems, and electronic components.
- Identify spare parts requirements and coordinate replacements.
- Assist in instrument upgrades, retrofits, and modifications.
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales teams to resolve technical issues.
- Provide field performance feedback to support product improvements.
- Support product demonstrations, trade shows, customer visits, and technical presentations when required.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare service reports, installation reports, calibration reports, troubleshooting reports, and customer visit reports.
- Maintain service logs, maintenance records, and customer support documentation.
- Support quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in:

- Or a related technical discipline
Required SkillsTechnical Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, pressure, flow, and vacuum systems.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical schematics.
- Understanding of sensors, instrumentation, PLCs, control systems, and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with calibration, testing, and validation procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical software tools.
AI & Automation Skills
- Basic understanding of AI-assisted tools, automation, and smart diagnostic systems.
- Ability to work with automated data acquisition and reporting systems.
- Interest in learning AI-based troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, and intelligent testing workflows.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools, Excel, technical software, or instrument control software is preferred.
- Understanding of digital technologies, intelligent monitoring systems, and automated service platforms is an advantage.

Preferred Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in scientific instruments, laboratory equipment, industrial automation, instrumentation, or technical service engineering.
- Experience in field service, installation, commissioning, or maintenance activities is preferred.
- Experience with pressure, flow, filtration, membrane testing, permeability testing, material characterization, or laboratory equipment is highly desirable.
- Exposure to AI-enabled systems, automated testing platforms, or smart industrial equipment is an added advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for installations, service visits, customer training, and technical support.
- Valid passport preferred.
- Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments.
- Ability to occasionally work outside standard business hours to support critical customer requirements.
