Service Engineer - Crushing and Screening

Location: Pan India (Travel-Based Role) - Preferable Northern India

Reports To: Service Manager / Head – After Sales

Department: After-Sales Service & Support

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Commissioning

• Execute installation and commissioning of jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens, VSI, and mobile/track/wheeled crushing units.
• Conduct dry and wet trials, vibration analysis, and system calibration.
• Ensure alignment, torque settings, lubrication setup, and interlocking system functionality.
  

2. Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Inspect wear components (liners, belts, bearings, screen decks) and recommend timely replacement.
• Replace critical spares and assemblies: motors, gearboxes, feeder drives, lubrication units, hydraulic jacks, etc.
• Conduct oil sampling, bearing clearance checks, and drive system diagnostics.
  

3. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

• Identify and rectify mechanical failures, abnormal vibrations, or process inconsistencies.
• Use technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and SCADA/HMI systems (if applicable) for fault isolation.
• Coordinate with design/engineering teams for complex issues.
  

4. Customer Support

• Provide onsite technical training to client personnel on machine operation, maintenance, and safety.
• Maintain detailed service records and share machine health reports.
• Address customer complaints, manage expectations, and ensure satisfaction through professional support.
  

5. Spare Parts & Feedback

• Identify and communicate spare part requirements to the Parts Team.
• Gather field feedback on component performance, failure patterns, and suggest improvements to Design/QA.
  

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain service logs, daily activity reports, inspection sheets, and commissioning certificates.
• Submit warranty claim documents, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and service visit reports.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in rotating and vibrating equipment.
• Understanding of crushing principles, screen dynamics, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Effective communication in English and Hindi; additional regional languages are a plus.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, automation, or control panels is an added advantage.
• Customer-focused, proactive, and self-driven with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering
• 2–5 years of experience in field service roles for heavy equipment, preferably in crushing & screening or material handling
  

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to machines like jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens, VSIs, mobile plants, washing systems
• Experience working with brands such as Metso, Sandvik, Terex, Propel, or any other similar brand.
