Job Description

Service Engineer – Mumbai

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Service Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing minimally invasive surgical equipment. The role is based in Mumbai and requires hands-on technical expertise, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to support advanced medical devices used in arthroscopy, spine, and related surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Maintenance

  • Install endoscopy and surgical equipment at customer sites as per manufacturer standards.
  • Perform Periodic Maintenance Service (PMS), Annual/Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (AMC/CMC), and routine performance checks.
  • Conduct breakdown service and ensure minimal downtime for hospital equipment.

2. Technical Service & Repairs

  • Execute in-house service including board-level and chip-level troubleshooting for Arthrex and Riwo Spine related devices.
  • Identify, repair, and replace faulty or worn-out components while ensuring equipment safety and reliability.
  • Follow regulatory and manufacturer guidelines for all service activities.

3. Documentation & Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all service activities, equipment status, and service history.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables for timely and effective repair operations.

4. Customer Training & Support

  • Provide clear and effective technical communication to non-technical hospital staff and end users.
  • Train clinicians, nurses, and technicians on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Offer after-sales technical support to hospitals, business partners, and biomedical teams.

5. Collaboration & Field Support

  • Work collaboratively with biomedical engineers, business partners, and manufacturer representatives.
  • Travel as required for breakdown service, PMS, AMC/CMC, cadaver programs, and live surgery support.
  • Be available for after-hours service when scheduled or during emergencies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in servicing endoscopy or medical equipment (mandatory).
  • Hands-on experience with endoscopy systems, imaging devices, surgical towers, or similar medical technology.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours when needed.
