Position : Service Engineer

Location : Delhi

Reports To : RSM - North

Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and technically sound Service Engineer who will be responsible for providing on-site and workshop-based service support. In addition to core service responsibilities, the candidate will actively support aftermarket sales by identifying upselling opportunities, promoting service contracts, spare parts, and accessories within the existing and new customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Role : Service

Install, commission, and configure Tools/Machine at customer sites.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repairs.

Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Machine.

Handle customer complaints and coordinate with the service team to ensure timely resolution.

Conduct tool calibration and generate calibration reports as per customer and OEM requirements.

Provide technical training to customer operators and maintenance staff on proper tool usage and upkeep.

Maintain detailed service records, job cards, and call reports in the Systems.

Ensure Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) compliance at workshop and customer premises.

Coordinate with the HO/RO/SC for technical support, spare parts, and warranty claims.

Secondary Role : Aftermarket Sales Support

Identify and generate leads for spare parts, accessories, service contracts, and tool repair orders from the installed base.

Promote and sell Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), Extended Warranty, and Tool Care / Service Plans to customers.

Prepare and submit quotations for spare parts, repair services, and accessories in coordination with the sales team.

Track and manage the installed base (tool population) in the assigned territory and ensure regular service follow-ups.

Develop strong customer relationships to increase service revenue and customer retention.

Gather market intelligence on competitor activities and report to the RSM.

Support the primary sales team with technical demonstrations, presentations, and application study during new tool sales.

Achieve monthly and quarterly aftermarket revenue targets as set by management.

Qualifications & Education:

  • B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering (preferred).
  • Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with relevant experience will also be considered.

Experience Required:

  1. 2 to 4 years of experience in servicing Industrial Tools (Pneumatic / Electric DC Tools).
  2. Experience working in automotive OEM or Tier-1 manufacturing environments preferred.
  3. Proven track record in aftermarket or service-based sales.

Technical Skills:

  1. Proficiency in servicing and repairing Pneumatic and DC electric assembly tools.
  2. Knowledge of Tightening Solutions, DC Tols, SPM Machines, Tool calibration techniques, and error-proofing concepts.
  3. Ability to read and interpret tool specifications, service manuals, and technical drawings.
  4. Basic knowledge of PLC-based systems and communication protocols (Fieldbus, Device Net, etc.).
  5. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report generation and quotation preparation.

Key Competencies & Soft Skills:

  1. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  2. Good communication skills in English and Hindi (regional language preferred).
  3. Customer-centric approach with ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
  4. Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently in the field.
  5. Collaborative mindset with ability to work cross-functionally with sales, logistics, and principals.
  6. 6. Willingness to travel extensively within Northern/East India.

KPIs & Performance Metrics:

  1. Response time to customer service calls (target: within 24 hours).First-time fix rate for tool repairs and breakdowns.
  2. Monthly aftermarket sales revenue (spare parts + AMC + repairs).
  3. Customer satisfaction score (CSAT) from field service visits.
  4. Number of new AMC / service contracts signed per quarter.
  5. Accuracy and timeliness of service reports and call closure documentation.
