Job Description

As the SEO Lead, you will own the end-to-end organic growth charter for CarDekho Group. This includes defining long-term SEO vision, driving technical and content excellence at scale, and leading a high-performing team. You will work closely with leadership, product, and engineering to embed SEO into the core of business and platform strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Own and drive SEO strategy across CarDekho, BikeDekho, ZigWheels, and InsuranceDekho.
  • Define annual and quarterly SEO roadmaps aligned with business OKRs, traffic, and revenue goals.
  • Identify and unlock new growth opportunities across key funnels—new cars, used cars, EVs, news, reviews, and transactional journeys.
  • Lead large-scale SEO experiments and innovation frameworks to drive sustainable growth.
  • Own technical SEO for large-scale platforms with complex architecture.
  • Partner with product & engineering leadership to drive improvements in crawl efficiency, indexation, internal linking, and site architecture.
  • Lead initiatives around Core Web Vitals, rendering optimisation, and structured data implementation.
  • Establish scalable frameworks for interlinking across models, variants, news, and UGC ecosystems.
  • Define SEO-first content strategy across reviews, comparisons, news, and long-form content.
  • Build scalable keyword and content taxonomies across categories like cars, bikes, EVs, ownership journeys, and FAQs.
  • Guide content, UX, and template design using search intent and user behaviour insights.
  • Drive content quality improvements and establish SEO best practices across teams.
  • Act as the SEO thought partner to product, engineering, and business leadership.
  • Write and drive PRDs for high-impact SEO initiatives and ensure execution through product roadmaps.
  • Institutionalize SEO checkpoints within release cycles and platform development.
  • Influence prioritisation through strong business cases and data-backed insights.
  • Own SEO performance tracking across platforms—traffic, rankings, CTR, and revenue impact.
  • Lead RCA for traffic shifts, algorithm updates, and technical issues.
  • Build executive-level dashboards and reporting frameworks for leadership visibility.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of SEOs, analysts, and content specialists.
  • Define team structure, hiring strategy, and capability development.
  • Establish SOPs, experimentation frameworks, and review mechanisms to ensure consistent execution.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in SEO, with proven leadership in scaling organic growth for large platforms.
  • Strong technical SEO expertise: crawl optimisation, indexation, log analysis, JavaScript SEO, schema, and site architecture.
  • Experience managing large-scale content ecosystems and data-driven page templates.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives with product and engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience in tools like GSC, GA4, BigQuery, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio, etc.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive roadmap adoption at leadership levels.
  • Excellent communication, prioritisation, and team leadership skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience in automotive, classifieds, e-commerce, or large publishing platforms.
  • Hands-on experience improving Core Web Vitals at scale.
  • Understanding of EV ecosystem and evolving search trends.
  • Experience with SEO experimentation frameworks and A/B testing.
