ROLE OVERVIEW:

We're looking for a data-driven and creative SEO & GEO Manager to own organic discovery across Codingal's web properties. This role goes beyond traditional SEO: you'll build strategies that ensure Codingal surfaces prominently in both Google/Bing search results and AI-generated answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and other generative engines.

You'll be responsible for building and executing a unified SEO + GEO strategy across multiple domains and landing pages - leveraging content optimization, programmatic SEO, structured data, entity authority, and LLM-assisted workflows.

This role requires a deep understanding of how both search engines and large language models discover, evaluate, and surface content, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, content, and product teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Own and drive organic traffic and qualified leads across multiple markets (India, US, APAC, Asia, etc.)
  • Design and execute a comprehensive SEO roadmap aligned with business goals and revenue targets
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research and intent-driven mapping for landing pages, blogs, and program pages
  • Define and implement a strong technical SEO foundation: site speed, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, crawl budget optimization, XML sitemaps, and site architecture
  • Work closely with engineering to implement on-page and technical SEO recommendations
  • Develop and execute white-hat backlink strategies with measurable domain authority impact
  • Implement and test programmatic SEO strategies for scalable landing page creation and intelligent interlinking
  • Own all SEO analytics and reporting via GA4, GSC, SEMrush/Ahrefs, and internal dashboards
  • Continuously monitor competitor websites, SERP features, and algorithm updates to adapt strategy
  • Manage international SEO for different geographies and languages (hreflang, localized content, regional domains)

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

  • Develop and execute a GEO strategy to maximize Codingal's visibility in AI-generated answers (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, etc.)
  • Optimize content for LLM consumption: clear entity definitions, structured data (JSON-LD), FAQ schemas, and authoritative sourcing
  • Build topical authority and entity recognition across Codingal's core domains (K-12 coding education, online coding classes, kids programming)
  • Ensure Codingal is accurately represented in AI knowledge graphs and training data pipelines
  • Monitor and track brand mentions and citations across AI answer engines; build a GEO performance tracking framework
  • Create content that is citation-worthy: original research, data-driven insights, expert quotes, and structured comparisons that LLMs prefer to reference
  • Optimize for zero-click and AI-overview SERP features (featured snippets, People Also Ask, AI Overviews)
  • Collaborate with PR and content teams to build external authority signals (mentions on high-authority sites, expert roundups, industry publications)

Cross-Functional & AI-Assisted Workflows

  • Collaborate with content writers and AI tools (LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to scale content creation efficiently while maintaining quality and E-E-A-T standards
  • Identify and lead LLM-powered content opportunities: content clusters, automated brief generation, AI-assisted meta-data optimization
  • Report on progress with clear dashboards; iterate based on data, experiments, and changes in both search and AI ecosystems
  • Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving SEO + GEO landscape: algorithm updates, AI search integrations, new answer engines

REQUIREMENTS:

Must-Have

  • 3–5 years of hands-on SEO experience with proven success in growing organic traffic (show us the numbers)
  • Deep knowledge of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and recent Google updates (Helpful Content Update, AI Overviews, March Core Updates, etc.)
  • Proficient in GA4, Search Console, SEMrush/Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and similar tools
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS, and how site architecture impacts crawlability and indexing
  • Strong understanding of structured data (JSON-LD, schema.org) and its role in both SEO and GEO
  • Experience with LLM tools for content ideation, production, and optimization (prompt engineering for SEO, AI-assisted workflows)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from data and communicate them clearly
  • Experience building and scaling programmatic SEO or template-driven landing page strategies

Good-to-Have

  • Understanding of how LLMs source, evaluate, and cite content - and how to optimize for AI answer engines
  • Experience with international SEO across different geographies and languages
  • Familiarity with NLP concepts, entity recognition, and knowledge graph optimization
  • Experience in ed-tech, SaaS, or D2C SEO with high-volume content marketing funnels
  • Exposure to tools like Surfer SEO, Clearscope, MarketMuse, or similar content optimization platforms
  • Basic understanding of Python or scripting for SEO automation (crawl analysis, log parsing, data extraction)
