We are looking for an experienced Environmental Sensor Engineer to join our Engineering team and contribute to the development, testing, calibration, and deployment of next-generation environmental sensing solutions.
About the Role
As an Environmental Sensor Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating, calibrating, validating, and optimising environmental sensors used across Aurassure's IoT products. You will work closely with Hardware, Embedded, Firmware, Cloud, Product, Manufacturing, and Field Engineering teams to ensure reliable sensor performance from development through production and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
• Integrate and validate environmental sensors used for Air Quality Monitoring, Weather Monitoring, Flood Monitoring, Water Level Monitoring, and Industrial IoT applications.
• Evaluate sensor performance for accuracy, repeatability, stability, response time, drift, and environmental tolerance.
• Perform laboratory calibration, field calibration, and validation of environmental sensors.
• Troubleshoot hardware and communication issues using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Configure and validate communication interfaces including I²C, SPI, UART, RS-485, and Ethernet.
• Support deployment, commissioning, and field validation of cloud-connected IoT monitoring systems.
• Develop sensor testing procedures, validation protocols, quality standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare calibration reports, validation documentation, and technical records.
• Work closely with Hardware, Firmware, Embedded Software, Cloud, Product, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to improve product performance.
• Evaluate new sensor technologies and recommend suitable solutions for future products.
• Support production readiness, manufacturing validation, and continuous product improvement.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4–7 years of experience in Environmental Monitoring, Sensor Engineering, Instrumentation, Embedded Systems, Electronics Hardware, or IoT Product Development.
Technical Skills
• Experience with environmental sensor integration and validation.
• Knowledge of air quality, weather, flood monitoring, water level, or industrial sensing systems.
• Strong understanding of sensor calibration, testing, and characterisation.
• Hands-on experience with embedded hardware and IoT devices.
• Working knowledge of communication protocols including I²C, SPI, UART, RS-485, and Ethernet.
• Experience debugging hardware and communication issues.
• Familiarity with laboratory testing, field deployments, and outdoor validation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
