Engagement Overview
We are seeking a Senior Workday Engineer Consultant to join our offshore engineering team in a consultant capacity. This role requires a highly experienced engineer who can operate independently, contribute immediately, and design and build complex enterprise backend systems that integrate with an Angular-based frontend.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain custom Workday Extend applications using Workday's low/no-code app tooling, including visual build and orchestration capabilities for enterprise workflows.
- Design and deliver Workday Orchestrate integrations across internal and external systems, including event-driven real-time flows and high-volume batch processing pipelines.
- Develop integrations using Workday APIs with correct pattern selection per use case: REST for user-initiated transactions, SOAP for large system-to-system batch processing, and Graph API (GraphQL) for targeted multi-object queries.
- Implement cross-application workflow orchestration and built-in data transformation functions to support end-to-end business process automation.
- Engineer solutions that align with Workday's native security and audit controls, ensuring integrations and custom apps inherit enterprise governance requirements.
- Own operational reliability through integration observability and monitoring, including proactive troubleshooting for failed runs, latency, and data quality exceptions.
- Apply DevOps automation practices for Workday app and integration lifecycle management, including build, deployment, and change control across environments.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on professional software development experience
- Expert-level proficiency in .NET Core, advanced C#, and object-oriented design
- Strong expertise in software design patterns and enterprise architecture
- Advanced SQL skills with hands-on experience in complex relational database design
- Proven experience designing and delivering complex enterprise systems
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs
- Demonstrated experience with performance tuning, scalability, and high-availability architectures
- Experience building backend systems that integrate with Angular frontends
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform; Microsoft Azure strongly preferred
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development and productivity tools
- Ability to work independently and deliver results in a consulting engagement model
- Strong communication skills and experience working effectively in distributed offshore teams
