Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled, creative, and mission-driven Video Editor to join the Indore Mayor's Media & Communications team.
The ideal candidate brings strong editing ability, attention to detail, and preferably experience in political, social, or public-facing communication.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the Mayor of Indore, contributing to high-impact storytelling that shapes the narrative of Indore's development journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. Video Editing & Post-Production
- Edit high-quality short-form and long-form content (reels, speeches, campaign videos, documentary-style pieces).
- Ensure smooth transitions, pacing, colour grading, audio clean-up, and overall visual consistency.
- Deliver polished, platform-ready content within defined timelines.
2. Storytelling & Creative Direction
- Translate raw footage into compelling, emotionally engaging stories.
- Understand the leadership narrative and weave it into each video.
- Work with the content team to integrate scripts, messages, and captions effectively.
3. Coordination & Visual Alignment
- Collaborate closely with the cinematographer, graphic designer, and strategist to maintain a unified visual style.
- Ensure all videos align with the mayor's branding, tonality, and communication objectives.
4. Content Adaptation for Multiple Platforms
- Create versions optimised for Instagram, YouTube, X (Twitter), Facebook, WhatsApp, and long-format platforms.
- Add subtitles, cutdowns, teasers, and quick edits as required for multi-platform distribution.
5. Project, Asset & Workflow Management
- Organise footage, maintain a structured archive, and manage production timelines.
- Ensure fast turnarounds while maintaining quality.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously with professional discipline.
6. Trend Awareness & Innovation
- Stay updated with political and civic storytelling trends.
- Recommend new formats, styles, editing techniques, and creative ideas regularly.
Requirements (Skill + Passion)
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Knowledge of colour correction, motion graphics basics, and audio mixing.
- Experience with documentary/editing, news or public communication formats is a plus.
Experience
- 24 years of professional video editing experience.
- Experience in political or leadership communication is highly preferred.
