Role Purpose
The Senior Vice President – KYC & AML will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, governance, and oversight across the Bank's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) framework. The role will supervise critical AML functions including Transaction Monitoring, Trade Based Money Laundering (TBML), Sanctions & Negative Screening, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Regulatory Reporting, and Financial Crime Investigations.
The incumbent will ensure robust supervisory control over high-risk and regulatory-critical processes, drive compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, strengthen risk governance, and lead AML transformation initiatives through technology and automation.

Key ResponsibilitiesAML & Financial Crime Oversight
- Provide strategic leadership and end-to-end oversight of AML operations, investigations, and financial crime risk management.
- Supervise Transaction Monitoring activities including alert review, escalation governance, L1-L3 oversight, and STR decision-making.
- Oversee review and disposition of complex, sensitive, and high-value AML cases requiring senior management intervention.
- Ensure timely identification, investigation, escalation, and reporting of suspicious transactions in line with regulatory expectations.
- Drive continuous enhancement of AML controls, risk-based monitoring frameworks, and investigative standards.
- Provide oversight on KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and high-risk customer reviews.
- Review and approve escalated high-risk relationships, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media cases.
- Ensure periodic review and risk assessment of high-risk customer portfolios.
- Lead governance and oversight of TBML monitoring and investigation activities.
- Establish robust controls to identify trade-related money laundering typologies, suspicious trade patterns, and AML risks associated with trade finance transactions.
- Oversee sanctions screening, negative media monitoring, watch-list screening, and name-matching investigations.
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international sanctions requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Ensure timely filing and quality of STRs, regulatory submissions, and responses to regulatory authorities, FIU, MHA, NCRP, LEAs, RBI, and other statutory bodies.
- Act as the key escalation point for AML-related regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Drive remediation and closure of regulatory observations and audit findings.
- Lead AML transformation initiatives including AMLytics, automated monitoring solutions, MuleHunter implementation, AI-based screening, and process automation.
- Partner with technology, operations, compliance, and business stakeholders to enhance AML effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Champion data-driven decision-making, analytics, and continuous process improvement.
- Establish strong governance and supervisory review mechanisms across AML functions.
- Develop AML policies, procedures, risk frameworks, and operating standards.
- Present AML risk trends, key developments, and governance updates to senior management and board-level committees.
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing AML and KYC teams.
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, Law, Banking, Risk Management, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, CFE, or equivalent will be preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in AML, KYC, Financial Crime Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, or Risk Management.
- Extensive experience in Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, TBML, EDD, AML Investigations, and Regulatory Reporting.
- Prior leadership experience managing large AML operations and regulatory engagements within Banking, NBFC, FinTech, or Financial Services organizations.
